1: The three pictures above I feel are my strongest in this assignment. The far left because it symbolizes spring and the colors in the season and there isn't a lot going on, but yet, there is. I also chose the middle photo as one of my favorites because not many people would think of this photo as a portrait. I enjoy taking informal portraits because it challenges you to see what's in your surroundings to capture the perfect moment. And lastly, I chose the picture to the far left as one of my strongest because it reminds me of Traverse City and what it is known for.. Cherry trees and beautiful scenes.
2: To make the photo to the far left more interesting I made sure the flower that was in focus was not right in the center but off to the side for composition. I also focused in on the branch because the pattern on that certain spot make the photo have a variety of color instead of just a flower. Next, to make my middle picture more interesting I also used the composition guidelines of rule of thirds. There were many people at the beach that day and these two girls stood out to me the most because they were having so much fun looking at all of the different rocks and playing together. I made sure that when I took the photo it showed what they were doing and how they were feeling. Lastly, to make the picture on the far right more interesting and appealing I used my point of view knowledge and shot the photo from below the average persons eye sight. I also used composition rules like repetition and symmetry so each side of trees had the same effect.
3: From this assignment, I learned how to really put my prior knowledge and past photo shoots into my new photos to make them more unique. I also learned that I need to work on portraits because that is one of my weak spots when it comes to photography. I need to practice it more to learn the techniques that it takes to be good at portraits. Lastly, I learned that nature photography is one of my stronger points and it comes easy to me.
